{"id":1630,"date":"2022-05-28T23:28:31","date_gmt":"2022-05-28T23:28:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5118.temp.domains\/~mercyho3\/mercy2015\/?p=1630"},"modified":"2022-05-28T23:28:31","modified_gmt":"2022-05-28T23:28:31","slug":"nigerian-anthony-chidebere-arrested-2m-dubai-property-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mercy-house.com\/?p=1630","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Anthony Chidebere arrested over $2m Dubai property fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Itumo Anthony Chidebere<\/strong> was been arrested in the UAE after going on the run for 13 months over his alleged involvement in a $2m Dubai real estate fraud.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian was apprehended by Dubai police after an Interpol alert was issued for his arrest in connection with defrauding a Nigerian businesswoman of around $2m.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arabianbusiness.com\/nigerian-man-arrested-over-2m-dubai-property-fraud-515465.html\">Arabian business .com<\/a>, the 35-year-old approached a prominent Nigerian businesswoman in June 2012, claiming to be a real estate agent and offering to help her purchase a house in Dubai, according to a report by the Vanguard Newspaper in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Based on references he claimed were from other prominent Nigerians he had also helped secure properties in the emirate, the victim paid Chidebere $2,082,139 to secure the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Chidebere subsequently disappeared, without purchasing the property.
